IMPORTANT: I DON'T SELL THESE KITS ANYMORE. THANKS TO ALL THOSE THAT HAVE PURCHASED THEM, AND ALSO TO THOSE THAT HAVE MADE SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT. I'LL KEEP THE WEBSITE UNTIL JULY 10, 2014.

>>> My intention in the medium-long term is to offer these kits for all the common archtop sizes: 15, 16, 17 and 18 inches. Here you will find information about my 16-inch kits:

>>> I sold (April 2011) a 17-inch kit to a client who thought he could build the guitar using the manual for the 16-inch plus some experience making mandolins and the book by Bob Benedetto.  My 17" kits are more conventional than my 16", so I'm sure that he will make a fine guitar! Anyway, I'll write some notes here until I have the time to build a guitar for the manual:

The tailpiece has an uncommon bracket. I had to make one for a guitar a few days ago, and I took the opportunity to write this guide

Pickup hum can be reduced considerably if you ground the strings, but this is not easy when you have a wooden tailpiece and saddle. My tailpieces can be grounded quite easily if you follow the steps here. You may find some ideas for other wooden tailpieces, too.
